Vance Joseph’s defense is performing so well that even without their top tackler, the Denver Broncos managed to keep Aaron Rodgers from throwing a touchdown pass. This has only happened to the four-time MVP in five other home games where he played every offensive snap.

The Broncos also sacked the hard-to-tackle quarterback five times in their 10-9 win at a rainy Meadowlands. This victory completed a two-game sweep during their Eastern road trip and brought their record to 2-2.

“Our defense played amazing,” Bo Nix said, after throwing for only 60 yards but also achieving his first career touchdown pass.

During the 10-day road trip, the Broncos allowed just one touchdown and three field goals, setting them up for a stretch where they will play three of their next four games at home.

“I’ll tell you what, we’ve got some grit and we’re a tough football team,” Nix mentioned.

This success came even without defensive leader Alex Singleton, who is out for the season due to an ACL tear from last week’s game in Tampa.

“Yeah, it was huge to go on the road and secure two tough wins against really good teams with strong defenses and offenses. You can’t say enough about our defense during this winning stretch,” Nix said.

Last year, Breece Hall rushed for 177 yards against the Broncos, including a 72-yard touchdown that helped the Jets win 31-21 in Denver. However, this time, the Broncos limited Hall to just 4 yards on 10 carries, with his longest run being 3 yards.

The Broncos held the Jets to 4 of 17 on third downs, just a week after limiting the Buccaneers to 3 of 11. For the season, Denver’s third-down conversion rate against them is an impressive 28.3%.
