The NFL regular season is coming to an end, with only one game left for each team. The playoff spots are set, and the top two seeds in the AFC have been claimed by the Kansas City Chiefs at No. 1 and the Buffalo Bills at No. 2.
Tom Brady, a Fox Sports analyst who ranked the Bills at No. 4, shared some important thoughts on the team’s position going into the playoffs.
As Week 18 of the NFL season rolls on, teams are competing for a chance to make the playoffs. Brady praised the Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles, and Detroit Lions but stated that the Kansas City Chiefs are the best team in the league.
On Thursday, Brady said, “The No. 1 team in my power rankings goes to the Chiefs,” highlighting their strong performances on both offense and defense. He pointed out the importance of their win against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day.
The Chiefs, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, won the game 29-10 against a tough Steelers defense. Brady mentioned Mahomes’ impressive performance, saying, “Patrick threw for 320 yards, a great all-around effort, three touchdowns. That was a really good Steelers defense on Christmas Day.”
Mahomes had an excellent game, completing 29 out of 39 pass attempts for 320 yards and three touchdowns.
The Chiefs’ offense gained 389 total yards, averaged 6.7 yards per play, and earned 20 first downs. Mahomes was named a two-time MVP, and the Chiefs’ offense has become one of the most powerful in the NFL.
Kansas City’s success this season isn’t just about their offense. Their defense, led by Steve Spagnuolo, has also been strong and aggressive. In their game against the Steelers, the Chiefs’ defense forced two turnovers and has kept four teams from scoring over 20 points in their last five games.
The Chiefs have a 15-1 record and have won six games in a row. Their only loss came against the Buffalo Bills in November. Kansas City is almost certain to secure the No. 1 seed in the AFC before their last regular-season game against the Denver Broncos on January 5.
The Chiefs’ defense has been outstanding, forcing two turnovers against the Steelers in Week 17. They have allowed only four teams to score more than 20 points this season. With a 15-1 record, their only loss was to the Buffalo Bills. Kansas City will play its final regular-season game against the Denver Broncos on January 5.
