Will Smith came through with a crucial two-run double in the 10th inning, guiding the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Monday night, marking their fourth consecutive win against their rivals this season.

“These games are always intense,” remarked Smith. “The fans are really into it. Both teams are aiming for the win. It all boils down to who can perform under pressure. Tonight, we managed to come out on top.”

Mookie Betts kicked off the game with his 50th career leadoff homer, while Kiké Hernández added a game-tying pinch-hit homer in the seventh inning for Los Angeles.

The deciding moment arrived in the 10th inning when Smith launched a ball to center field off Taylor Rogers, giving the Dodgers the lead.

“We had a few chances earlier in the game, but it came down to that final inning and one big hit,” commented Giants manager Bob Melvin.

Blake Treinen nabbed the win, including a crucial play where he picked off pinch-runner Tyler Fitzgerald at first base during a scoreless ninth inning. J.P. Feyereisen secured his first save with three outs.

The Dodgers maintained their impressive defensive streak, extending a franchise record by allowing four runs or fewer in 20 consecutive games, winning 16 of them.

“We’re playing at our best level,” Hernández noted. “Our starting pitchers have been exceptional, keeping us in games even when we’re not ahead early on. With our strong lineup, we always have a chance to come back.”
