The Minnesota Twins have chosen Chris Paddack to pitch on Monday night against the White Sox in Chicago, having brought back the 28-year-old right-handed pitcher from the 15-day injured list earlier in the day.
Paddack, who has a record of 5-3 with a 5.29 ERA in 15 starts this season, has not played since June 21 due to fatigue in his right arm. In his last two outings, he struggled, giving up a total of eight runs over seven innings.
To accommodate his return, the Twins sent right-hander Josh Winder down to Triple-A St. Paul.
Minnesota, currently at 51-39 and in second place in the AL Central, has won three out of its last four games. Chicago, with a league-worst record of 26-66, is 40 games below .500, which matches their season’s lowest point.
