The New York Giants find themselves in a state of flux regarding their quarterback situation. While Daniel Jones remains on the roster, there are indications that the Giants are open to trading up in the first round to secure a potential successor, as reported by SNYtv.

However, acquiring one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft presents a significant challenge for the Giants. Currently holding the No. 6 overall pick, they face competition from teams like the Bears, Commanders, and Patriots, all of whom are also in the market for a quarterback.

While there is a possibility that one of these teams may relinquish their spot, such a move would likely come at a steep price, potentially involving future high draft picks.

There’s even speculation about the inclusion of Daniel Jones in a trade, although his salary might complicate matters.

Alternatively, the Giants could opt to stay put and see what options are available at No. 6. While prospects like Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye may already be off the board by then, unforeseen developments could still occur. For instance, Caleb Williams’ decision to skip medical exams at the NFL Scouting Combine might influence his availability.

Even if the top quarterbacks are unavailable at No. 6, the Giants still have viable options like J.J. McCarthy, Michael Penix Jr., and Bo Nix to consider. Additionally, they could target Spencer Rattler or Michael Pratt on Day 2 or Day 3 of the draft.

General manager Joe Schoen expressed confidence in the depth of this year’s quarterback class, emphasizing that quality options extend beyond the first round. This sentiment aligns with the Giants’ willingness to explore all avenues to bolster their quarterback room ahead of the 2024 season.
