Infielder Donovan Solano has signed a minor league contract with the San Diego Padres.
The announcement came on Monday before the Padres’ matchup against the Milwaukee Brewers. Solano, aged 36, will join the Padres’ extended spring training camp in Arizona.
Last season, Solano played 134 games for the Minnesota Twins, hitting .282 with a .369 on-base percentage, five home runs, and 38 RBIs.
He played across multiple positions including first base, second base, and third base.
Throughout his career, Solano has maintained a batting average of .279 with a .334 on-base percentage, hitting 32 home runs and driving in 244 runs across 820 regular-season games. He has previously played for the Miami Marlins (2012-15), New York Yankees (2016), San Francisco Giants (2019-21), Cincinnati Reds (2022), and Twins.
