The San Diego Padres honored their late owner, Peter Seidler, with a heartfelt gathering at Petco Park on Saturday. They promised to fulfill his dream of winning a World Series for the city.

Seidler, a member of the O’Malley family known for owning the Dodgers, has been dedicated to the Padres since joining the ownership group in 2012. He became the majority owner in 2020, investing significant resources to bring success to San Diego.

At the celebration, attended by about 2,000 fans, Seidler’s family and team members shared memories and emotions. Tom Seidler, Peter’s brother, recalled Peter’s vision of a championship parade in the city.

The Padres are determined to honor Peter’s legacy by striving for success on the field. Mayor Todd Gloria announced plans to rename a street near Petco Park in Peter’s honor.
