The Panthers have been talking to lots of other teams this season about maybe swapping their main wide receiver for someone else, sources say.
Carolina Panthers are searching for another better-off wide receiver because they have two main players, DJ Chark and Adam Thielen, who have gained more than 100 yards in the games this season.
They need someone to take Bryce Young’s place, but he will be back to begin today’s game, even though he had a little break as a result of an ankle injury.
The Carolina team picked a new receiver by the name of Jonathan Mingo in the second round last year. But he did not start very fast, catching only eight passes for 64 yards in three games.”
Few things are more important to Carolina than having a young No. 1 QB feel comfortable and successful. Despite having plenty of opportunities, Young completed 59.2% of his passes for a good 299 yards, two touchdowns, as well as two interceptions through two games.
Perhaps another starting WR will help Young’s development. Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer has said he’s willing to participate in any deal, and this is one example of that. Sources said the team may also trade safety Xavier Woods, who is suffering from a hamstring injury.
