Michael Bunting broke a tie with 5:28 remaining in the third period, and the Pittsburgh Penguins secured a 5-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday, moving into a playoff position.
Referee Steve Kozari was stretchered off the ice after colliding with Lightning defenseman Haydn Fleury 6:11 into the third period. Kozari was able to move his arms, but Fleury did not return to the game.
Evgeni Malkin contributed two goals and an assist for Pittsburgh, while Bunting also tallied two assists. Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang also scored for the Penguins.
Penguins goalie Alex Nedeljkovic made 30 saves in his eighth consecutive start.
Pittsburgh extended its winning streak to four games and improved to 6-0-2 in its last eight games. The team is now tied with Philadelphia for the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, as the Flyers faced Columbus on Saturday night.
The Lightning, who secured a playoff berth on Friday after Philadelphia, Washington, and Detroit all lost in regulation, had won 10 of their previous 12 games.
