Premier League pundit and former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has voiced his opinion on Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, suggesting that there’s a misconception about the player.
In a discussion on talkSPORT, Jordan expressed his views, stating:
“I think he lacks resolution and determination and application, and I do not think that he is as good a player as people have built him up to be, and I think that is also unfortunate because he is characterized in a way that he is a world-class footballer and he is not.”
Rashford’s performance in the 2023-24 season has been below par, with only five goals and six assists in 32 appearances across various competitions.
Since his debut for Manchester United eight years ago in February 2016, Rashford, a product of the United academy, has been seen as a potential star and a significant figure at Old Trafford. However, his inconsistent form has raised doubts about his ability to consistently perform at the highest level.
Despite showing promise with a career-best 30 goals last season, along with 11 assists in 56 appearances across all competitions, Rashford’s struggles have persisted in the current campaign, casting doubt on his long-term impact at the club.
