While the draft appears to be the most obvious avenue for acquiring a quarterback, Pierce’s successful tenure as an interim coach towards the end of the season has resulted in the Raiders picking in the middle of the first round, rather than at the top.
Given the high demand for quarterbacks from several other teams, remaining idle may not yield the desired outcome for the Raiders. However, the team is exploring alternative strategies, including potential trades to move up in the draft.
These discussions are not solely centered on securing the top pick but also extend to attaining a position in the middle of the top 10.
Such a move could pave the way for additional trades or position them to target specific players like J.J. McCarthy, should other quarterbacks such as Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye be drafted earlier.
With free agency still on the horizon, numerous variables remain uncertain. Yet, Pierce’s unwavering determination to resolve the quarterback quandary suggests that the Raiders will remain vigilant in exploring opportunities to move up in the draft as the offseason progresses.
