LeBron James and Bronny James warms up before the game

It has always been expected that Bronny James would spend a significant amount of time in the G League with the Los Angeles Lakers’ affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. With the G League season starting soon, Bronny is set to make his debut on Saturday night when South Bay plays against the Salt Lake City Stars.

The Lakers will be managing Bronny’s time between the G League and the main roster as part of his development. He won’t be playing much with the Lakers right now, having logged just 13 minutes through the team’s first eight games. However, in the G League, he will get the game time he needs to improve.

Bronny will be playing in front of many fans, as the South Bay Lakers have announced that their opening game against Salt Lake City is sold out, and no tickets will be available at the door.

While some may question Bronny’s basketball skills and whether he will become a real contributor in the NBA, his popularity is undeniable. People want to watch Bronny, and this sold-out game proves that.

However, with all the attention comes pressure. People will expect to see Bronny perform. It’s one thing to struggle against NBA-level competition, but if he struggles in the G League, his critics may become more vocal.

Even so, these G League games will be an important part of Bronny’s growth as a player. His presence will also provide more opportunities for others on the South Bay Lakers, such as last year’s first-round pick Jalen Hood-Schifino and two-way players Christian Koloko, Quincy Olivari, and Armel Traore.

Bronny James’ first G League game will be on Saturday night, but he will be with the Lakers’ main roster on Friday for their game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

It has been revealed that, for now, Bronny will only play home games for the South Bay Lakers. He won’t be traveling with the team for away games, as the Lakers want him to spend time practicing and traveling with the main roster as well, balancing his time between both teams.
