The Tennessee Titans hired a new head coach focused on offense, brought in a new staff, and spent a lot of money and draft picks during the offseason. Despite these changes, they have a record of 1-4.

The Titans have lost three games by a touchdown or less, with their most recent loss being 20-17 to Indianapolis on Sunday. They couldn’t hold on to a 17-10 lead going into the fourth quarter, and after their AFC South rival took the lead for good, they struggled to stay on the field.

“We’ve got to find a way to finish in the fourth quarter,” first-year coach Bill Callahan said.

This is Callahan’s first season calling plays after spending the previous five years as the offensive coordinator in Cincinnati. He was brought in to replace Mike Vrabel. However, the Titans now have a record of 7-22 since starting 7-3 in the 2022 season.

Callahan stated on Monday that there are no shortcuts, and the team must continue to work with second-year quarterback Will Levis, who is learning a whole new system. He remains positive and believes the Titans can win games, pointing to several positives.

“When you’re 1-4, the negative obviously gets highlighted and that’s as it should,” Callahan said. The Titans insist they are united in their efforts.

“Nobody’s going to come in and save us,” said center Lloyd Cushenberry, one of six new starters on offense in the most recent game.

Safety Amani Hooker, who made the defense’s first interception, is one of six new starters against the Colts. His view? “We understand that we’ve got the pieces. We understand that we’re a few plays away.”
