The Vikings are poised to welcome running back Aaron Jones to their roster while bidding farewell to another former Packer, as announced on Tuesday.
They confirmed the release of defensive lineman Dean Lowry and the waiver of linebacker William Kwenkeu.
Lowry joined the Vikings on a two-year deal as a free agent last off-season. He contributed 14 tackles, a fumble recovery, and a pass defensed in nine games before sustaining a pectoral injury.
The decision to release Lowry, who spent seven seasons with Green Bay, will free up just under $2.1 million in cap space while resulting in $2.4 million in dead money.
Kwenku, who signed with the Vikings after going undrafted in 2022, appeared in six games as a rookie.
