Will Levis has avoided looking at his social media for the past few weeks, and the Tennessee Titans quarterback spent part of Wednesday changing his phone number to prevent fans from bombarding him with messages about his performance.
“I just think that’s the healthiest way to go about it, and I don’t want to or care to see anything that people say about me,” Levis said. “And I’m just going to keep chugging along regardless of what they say.
So yeah, but it sucks that the world is the way that it is and I’m looking forward to having some privacy.” With the Titans starting the season 0-2, Levis has become an easy target for criticism.
Tennessee currently has the NFL’s worst turnover margin at minus-4, mainly due to Levis turning the ball over five times in just three quarters across two games. Green Bay (1-1) is coming in on Sunday with a defense that leads the league with six takeaways.
After his most recent loss, Levis spoke about needing to adjust his mindset. When asked if seeing a sports psychologist might help, Levis said it could be a possibility in the future. He feels good about where he is right now and knows what he needs to improve.
That includes understanding the Titans’ position on the field, the score, the time remaining, and when to be “uber careful” with the ball. He is also focusing on processing all this information faster, especially when watching film during the week to make smarter decisions.
“I’m just trying to be consciously every day, just think of those situations and get better in them,” Levis said.
