Despite winning their third straight division title in 2023 and making it to the playoffs, the Falcons are favored to win the NFC South in 2024 over the Buccaneers.
However, Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles isn’t bothered by this. He believes it’s just a matter of respect, and the team is focused on winning the upcoming season, not off-season accolades.
Bowles emphasized that the team’s goal remains to defend their title and go further in the playoffs. He stated that such talk fuels both him and the players.
The Buccaneers have retained many key players, including Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans, providing continuity. Although there’s a new offensive coordinator in Liam Coen, he has a good rapport with Mayfield from their time together at the Rams in 2022.
Bowles praised the quick chemistry development among the offensive coaching staff and players. Despite challenges, he’s pleased with how they’ve come together.
After finishing 9-8 following Tom Brady’s retirement, the Buccaneers aim to be even stronger in 2024.
