After serving as the Chargers General Manager for 11 seasons, Tom Telesco has moved to the Raiders in the same role.
His extensive experience is valuable for Las Vegas, so they hired him to join Antonio Pierce, the new head coach, for the upcoming season.
During a press conference before the draft, Telesco spoke positively about working with Pierce since the offseason.
“It’s been positive,” Telesco said. “He has a clear vision of what he wants for the team, which helps us in the personnel department as we match players to our team.
He has a strong ability to evaluate players, which is not surprising given his background. He’s evaluated players at all levels, from high school to college to the pros.
Since he was recently in college, he already knows some players, having recruited them or competed against them. That’s been useful. The most important thing is that he has a consistent vision for the team, which helps us identify the right players for the Raiders.”
The Raiders are likely to address the quarterback position early in the draft. We’ll soon find out who they believe aligns with Pierce’s vision for the team.
