Andrew Carr scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and he also blocked a potential game-winning shot, helping No. 4 Kentucky secure a 90-89 overtime win against No. 7 Gonzaga at the Battle in Seattle on Saturday night.
Jaxson Robinson scored 18 points, and Otega Oweh added 13 for Kentucky (8-1), who defeated Gonzaga after losing to them in the past two seasons. Amari Williams contributed 12 points, and Brandon Garrison had 10 points and nine rebounds for Kentucky, which made an impressive comeback from an 18-point deficit in the second half.
Graham Ike scored a season-high 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Gonzaga (7-2). Ben Gregg had 14 points, Ryan Nembhard added 13 points and 10 assists, and Khalif Battle also scored 13 points for the Bulldogs.
With Kentucky leading by one point, Carr missed two free throws with 4.3 seconds left in overtime. Dusty Stromer grabbed the rebound for Gonzaga, but Carr managed to knock the ball away from behind during the fast break, preventing Gonzaga from getting a final shot.
No. 5 Marquette 88, No. 11 Wisconsin 74
Kam Jones matched his season-high with 32 points, and David Joplin added 13 as Marquette pulled away in the second half to defeat Wisconsin in a nonconference game in Milwaukee, Wis.
Marquette (9-1) was trailing 39-37 at halftime but took the lead 61-53 with 12:17 left when Jones made a 3-pointer and converted the free throw after being fouled. Marquette extended the lead to 70-55 following a three-point play by Stevie Mitchell at the 8:49 mark.
Max Klesmit ended a shooting slump by leading Wisconsin with 22 points, hitting 6 of 11 from three-point range. Klesmit had been shooting just 25.4% from beyond the arc before this game.
No. 17 Houston 79, Butler 51
LJ Cryer scored 18 of his 20 points in the second half, and Emanuel Sharp finished with 16 points as Houston dominated Butler.
Cryer helped Houston (5-3) gain control in the second half, scoring 10 of the team’s first 14 points after the break. The Cougars extended their 26-game home win streak, which is tied for the longest in the nation.
Butler (7-2) had their six-game winning streak snapped. Patrick McCaffery and Augusto Cassia scored 11 points each for Butler. Jahmyl Telfort, who had been averaging 22.3 points in the previous three games, scored just four points in this game.
No. 18 Pitt 64, Virginia Tech 59
Jaland Lowe scored 19 points, including the go-ahead layup in the final minute, and Guillermo Diaz Graham made a key block to help Pitt overcome Virginia Tech in their Atlantic Coast Conference opener in Blacksburg, Va.
Diaz Graham finished with nine points, seven rebounds, and two blocks. Ishmael Leggett added 17 points for Pitt (8-2, 1-0 ACC).
Toibu Lawal scored 16 points, and Jaden Schutt added 14 points for Virginia Tech (3-6, 0-1), who lost their sixth straight game.
No. 20 North Carolina 68, Georgia Tech 65
Seth Trimble led North Carolina with 19 points, helping them defeat Georgia Tech in their Atlantic Coast Conference opener in Chapel Hill, N.C.
RJ Davis scored 16 points, and Ian Jackson came off the bench to add 15 points for North Carolina (5-4, 1-0 ACC), who snapped a three-game losing streak. North Carolina struggled with their shooting, making only 39% of their field goals and 20.8% of their three-pointers, while Georgia Tech shot 31.2% from the field and 29.6% from beyond the arc.
Lance Terry led Georgia Tech (4-5, 0-1) with 22 points, while Baye Ndongo contributed 19 points and 12 rebounds. Naithan George added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Yellow Jackets, who lost their second straight game.
No. 23 Ole Miss 86, Lindenwood 53
Sean Pedulla scored 19 points to lead Ole Miss to a dominant second-half performance that resulted in a victory over Lindenwood in Oxford, Miss.
Mikeal Brown-Jones added 14 points for Ole Miss (8-1), who outscored Lindenwood 47-20 in the second half. Ole Miss shot 57.7% from the field in the second half and 51.7% for the game, setting a season-best shooting performance.
Reggie Bass was the only player in double figures for Lindenwood (3-6), scoring 10 points. Lindenwood shot 32% from the floor in the second half and 35.3% for the game, while Ole Miss committed just seven turnovers compared to 15 for Lindenwood.
No. 21 Oklahoma 94, Alcorn State 78
Jalon Moore scored 19 of his 20 points in the second half, helping Oklahoma shake off a slow start to defeat winless Alcorn State in Norman, Okla.
Moore made all eight of his shots in the second half, finishing 8 of 9 overall. Jeremiah Fears and Dayton Forsythe each added 14 points and seven assists for Oklahoma (9-0). Mohamed Wague scored 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting, and Brycen Goodine contributed 12 points, including four three-pointers. Oklahoma shot 54.7% from the field and was 12 of 37 from three-point range.
Omari Hamilton scored 16 points for Alcorn State (0-10), while Davian Williams added 13 points and seven assists. Michael Pajeaud had 12 points, and Keionte Cornelius scored 11 points.

San Diego State used a strong second half to defeat cross-town rival San Diego at home.
Nick Boyd led San Diego State (6-2) with 17 points. Miles Byrd and Jared Coleman-Jones each added 13 points, and freshman Pharaoh Compton contributed 12 points off the bench.
Bendji Pierre scored 17 points for San Diego (3-6), but the Toreros struggled offensively, shooting just 30.9% from the field, including 6 of 32 from three-point range. San Diego also committed 16 turnovers in the loss.
