Ezequiel Tovar hit a home run and had three hits, while Dakota Hudson pitched well, allowing only one run and four hits in seven-plus innings as the Colorado Rockies beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-1 on Friday night.
Hudson came into the game with little run support, but the Rockies scored three runs in the fourth inning, followed by Tovar’s solo home run in the fourth off Walker Buehler. It was Tovar’s fifth home run in May.
Hudson, who struck out three and walked one, kept the Dodgers from scoring for most of the game, but he tired in the eighth inning. Jalen Beeks got the final outs for his sixth save in nine opportunities.
The Rockies have been playing well recently, winning five of their last seven games, including series against strong teams like the Philadelphia Phillies and Cleveland Guardians.
The Dodgers, who had been on a winning streak after sweeping the New York Mets, struggled against Hudson early in the game. Buehler, who was making his fifth start since returning from Tommy John surgery, allowed four runs on six hits with four walks and seven strikeouts.
