The year continues to shine brightly for Travis Kelce, the star-tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs.
According to Tatiana Siegel of Variety, Kelce has taken a plunge into the movie industry as one of the investors in a “low-budget dark comedy” titled My Dead Friend Zoe. This venture marks Kelce’s debut in the cinematic realm, joining a cast that includes Natalie Morales, Ed Harris, Morgan Freeman, and Sonequa Martin-Green.
Despite its modest budget of less than $10 million, the film received financial backing through the sale of surplus tax credits from green energy entrepreneur Mike Field, who also serves as a producer. Remarkably, this makes My Dead Friend Zoe the pioneering film to leverage President Joe Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act for funding.
Kelce’s star power extends beyond the football field, as he’s garnered significant attention for his relationship with international music sensation Taylor Swift.
On the gridiron, Kelce’s prowess was pivotal in guiding the Chiefs to their third Super Bowl victory in five years, clinching a thrilling 25-22 overtime win against the San Francisco 49ers.
Kelce emerged as a standout performer, leading both teams with nine receptions for 93 yards. However, it was his teammate Mecole Hardman who secured the game-winning touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes during overtime, sealing the Chiefs’ triumph.
