Under the creative direction of Triple H, WWE delivered yet another successful Royal Rumble event this past Saturday. While the women’s battle royal garnered praise for showcasing various talents, Maxxine Dupri’s performance left fans underwhelmed.
At just 26 years old, Dupri is still in the early stages of her in-ring career after transitioning from a manager/valet role. With only seven matches under her belt, she entered the women’s Royal Rumble match at #18, lasting a little over five minutes before being eliminated by Bayley.
Unfortunately, Dupri’s outing lacked eliminations, and she struggled with a few botches during her brief time in the ring.
Criticism of Dupri’s performance extended beyond fans, as former WWE star Matt Morgan voiced his disappointment. In a candid assessment, Morgan suggested that Dupri needs further development in NXT, citing her lack of experience and rough spots during the match.
Despite the critiques, Morgan acknowledged Bayley’s professionalism in trying to elevate Dupri during the bout. He praised Bayley for her adaptability and skill in covering up miscues, highlighting the stark difference in experience between Dupri and the other competitors in the ring.
