Former Watford striker Troy Deeney has weighed in on Liverpool’s upcoming Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest on Saturday (March 2).

After securing a convincing 3-0 victory over Southampton in the midweek FA Cup fifth round, following a hard-fought 1-0 win over Chelsea in the EFL Cup final, Jurgen Klopp’s team is riding high.

Currently topping the Premier League table after 26 games, they are just one point ahead of Manchester City, who are chasing their fourth consecutive title and will face Manchester United at home a day later.

On the other hand, Nottingham Forest suffered a heart-breaking 1-0 defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup fifth round in midweek. With just four points separating them from the relegation zone and 12 games remaining, their recent form hasn’t been promising, especially after a 4-2 loss to Aston Villa in their last league match.

Mohamed Salah

Considering the contrasting form of both teams and Liverpool’s impending return of Mohamed Salah, Deeney has predicted a victory for the league leaders:

“Forest played Man United in the week and they weren’t great,” he shared on his TikTok page (via TBR). “Liverpool are firing on all cylinders, they have the young kids scoring and some of the injuries coming back. I expect to see Mo Salah back, I will go with 2-1 to Liverpool in that game.”

Liverpool comfortably won the previous encounter between the two teams 3-0 at Anfield back in October.
