Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is hoping to return to play next week.

According to Diana Russini from The Athletic, there is “hope” that Tagovailoa will be ready for the Dolphins’ Week 8 game against the Arizona Cardinals next Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium. His practice window is expected to open on Wednesday.

If he plays against the Cardinals in Week 8, Tagovailoa will have missed four games since leaving the Dolphins’ 31–10 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 2 because of a concussion. He got hurt during an awkward hit from Bills safety Damar Hamlin while trying to run for a first down.

This was at least the third concussion for Tagovailoa in his NFL career. Even with concerns about his health, the Dolphins quarterback seems eager to get back on the field.

The Dolphins have struggled without him, as their once-powerful offense has not scored more than 15 points since their season-opening 20–17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 8. As they head into the Week 7 game against the Indianapolis Colts, the Dolphins rank 26th in passing yards per game (185.6) and last in points per game (12.0).

Tagovailoa’s team is set to play against the Colts at 1 p.m. ET Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.
