Brazilian defender Tuta scored a goal but later got a red card as Eintracht Frankfurt fought back to draw 1-1 against Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga on Friday.
Frankfurt’s goalkeeper Kevin Trapp made several good saves, but he couldn’t stop a shot in the 62nd minute, leading to Miloš Veljković scoring from the rebound.
The game seemed to tilt in Frankfurt’s favor in the 73rd minute when Bremen midfielder Jens Stage was sent off for a rough tackle on substitute Jean-Mattéo Bahoya.
Frankfurt then equalized in the 77th minute when Tuta headed in a lofted pass from Willian Pacho for his first league goal of the season.
However, Tuta’s joy was short-lived as he received a straight red card in the 89th minute for a foul on Felix Agu.
The draw meant that Frankfurt extended its unbeaten streak at home to eight games and remained sixth in the Bundesliga, trailing Leipzig by nine points.
Bremen ended a four-game losing streak and stayed in 10th place in the league.
