The Phoenix Mercury are dedicating two courts at their new $70 million practice facility to honor star guard Diana Taurasi.

The 58,000-square-foot facility in downtown Phoenix will be revealed next Thursday at the start of WNBA All-Star weekend at Footprint Center. Located three blocks from the arena, it will feature courts named Diana Taurasi Court, complete with a logo inspired by the WNBA’s all-time leading scorer.

Additionally, the facility will house areas for strength training, cardio workouts, hydrotherapy, a sauna, offices, meeting rooms, a lounge, and a dining room.

Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia emphasized the importance of the Mercury having their own practice facility when he acquired the franchise in 2023.

Taurasi, who has played her entire career with the franchise since being drafted first overall from UConn in the 2004 WNBA draft, is a three-time WNBA champion, six-time Olympian, and 11-time WNBA All-Star. She will represent the U.S. in the upcoming Paris Olympics later this month.

During WNBA All-Star weekend in Phoenix, the skills challenge and 3-point contest will take place next Friday, followed by the U.S. Olympic 5-on-5 team facing Team WNBA in the All-Star Game the next day.
