Germany will be missing team captain Alexandra Popp and forward Lea Schüller for Tuesday’s semifinal match against the United States in the Olympic women’s soccer tournament.

The German soccer federation reported that Popp is ill, and Schüller is dealing with inflammation in her left knee.

Popp is the only player on the German team who was part of the squad that won the gold medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Nicole Anyomi and Sarai Linder will replace Popp and Schüller. Linder is returning after recovering from an illness during the group stage.

The winner of the Germany-U.S. semifinal will face either Brazil or Spain in the final on Saturday in Paris. The U.S. previously defeated Germany 4-1 in the group stage.
