The Mariners won two out of three games against the Royals. They have been performing well lately, winning eight of their last nine series. Seattle is now heading for an important 10-game road trip on the East Coast, sitting four games above .500 and leading the AL West.
France’s home run in the fourth inning off Kansas City’s Alec Marsh gave Seattle a 2-0 lead. He also hit a home run in Monday’s series opener.
Seattle scored an unearned run in the second inning due to a fielding error by Adam Frazier. Then, they added two crucial runs later in the game. Josh Rojas drove in a run with a single in the seventh inning, and Luke Raley contributed an RBI single in the eighth.
Manager Scott Servais praised the team’s ability to keep grinding and deliver key hits. While Woo performed well, Andrés Muñoz secured the victory with five outs to go, earning his seventh save of the season. He managed to work around an error in the ninth inning, marking his second five-out save of the season.
