U.S. Soccer has announced that it will establish a new national training hub in Fayette County, Georgia, set to become the home for all 27 national teams, including both senior men’s and women’s teams as well as youth teams. This facility is expected to serve as a central location for U.S. Soccer operations, enhancing training and development for athletes at all levels. The decision to build the hub is part of a larger plan to strengthen the sport’s presence in the United States.

Among several possible locations, Atlanta was selected for its favorable climate and convenient access to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world. These factors are especially beneficial for players based in Europe, making travel to and from the hub more efficient. In addition, the city’s established soccer culture and active community further contributed to its appeal as the ideal site for the new facility.

USMNT midfielder Auston Trusty shared his thoughts on the move, noting the advantage of the new location’s proximity for international players. While he expressed some fondness for California, where the team had previously trained, Trusty acknowledged that the new hub would make it easier for many players to travel due to its location on the East Coast. His comments reflect the general sentiment among players who see practical benefits in the shift to Atlanta.

JT Batson, the CEO of U.S. Soccer, highlighted the importance of the timing of this project, citing the growth of the sport in the U.S. and the major tournaments approaching in the coming years. Batson emphasized that Fayetteville and the Atlanta region have a strong passion for soccer, which will help inspire current and future athletes. He also noted that the hub is strategically placed to connect with a diverse range of participants, fostering the sport’s growth at a critical time.

While an official opening date has not been set, the timing of the training center’s launch coincides with major international events, including the Copa America, Club World Cup, and the 2026 FIFA World Cup, all of which will take place in the United States. The new facility is expected to play a key role in U.S. Soccer’s long-term goals, accelerating the development of the sport and reinforcing the country’s position on the world stage.
