Super Bowl LVIII is just around the corner, scheduled for February 11 at 6:00 p.m. ET at Allegiant Stadium. This eagerly anticipated matchup will see the Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers facing off in a rematch of the 2020 Super Bowl.

Adding to the excitement is Usher’s upcoming halftime performance, set to captivate the audience at Allegiant Stadium. Notably, previous NFL halftime shows featured stellar performances by Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, and Shakira, with Rihanna setting a record for the most-watched halftime show in history.

Expectations are high for Usher’s performance, and like many before him, he has a favorite team, although they did not make it to the finals this time around. In a recent appearance on the “Club Shay Shay” show with veteran Shannon Sharpe, Usher discussed his upcoming Super Bowl halftime show performance.

During the conversation, Sharpe asked Usher about his Super Bowl prediction. Usher, unsure at this early stage, turned the question back to Sharpe, mentioning discussions around Miami and Kansas City.

When asked about his allegiance to the Dallas Cowboys, Usher, a Dallas native, expressed his longtime support for the team, hinting that it could be a promising year for them.

Interestingly, Usher revealed plans to release his solo album, “Coming Home,” on the same day as the Super Bowl. In an interview with Sharpe, he explained the strategic decision, seeing it as a tribute to the past.

Currently performing a residency in Las Vegas, Usher views the Super Bowl opportunity as a special treat despite the uncertainty of receiving payment for the show.

This brings up an intriguing aspect: will Usher be compensated for his halftime show performance? Despite being a staple in the NFL for decades and featuring megastars, including Beyonce, Rihanna, and Shakira, the halftime show performers, including Usher, do not receive a paycheck for their contributions.

Instead, the NFL covers all expenses and production costs, which can be substantial, reaching nearly $10 million.

Even though Usher may not be paid for his Super Bowl performance, the opportunity to entertain fans during the 13-15 minute concert is a momentous occasion.

The practice of not compensating artists for the halftime show has been confirmed by spokesperson Joanna Hunter, who emphasized that the NFL covers expenses and production costs. What are your thoughts on this unique approach? Feel free to share your views.
