Memphis Grizzlies guard Vince Williams Jr. is set to make his mark at the All-Star Weekend festivities in Indianapolis.
Announced by the Grizzlies, the 23-year-old has earned a spot in the 2024 Panini Rising Stars, stepping in as an injury replacement for the mini-tournament that spotlights NBA Rookies, Sophomores, and G League players during the All-Star Weekend.
This recognition marks Williams Jr. as the 21st player in Grizzlies’ history to participate in the Rising Stars game. His journey with the team began when he was drafted in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft, later securing a multi-year contract with Memphis in January.
Throughout this season, Williams has been a consistent contributor for the Grizzlies, averaging 9.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists across 41 games.
His development has been notable, particularly in a season where Memphis has faced challenges, currently standing at 18-35, a stark contrast to their strong performance in the 2022-23 season.
While injury setbacks have plagued the Grizzlies, providing opportunities for players like Williams to step up, his inclusion in the Rising Stars game serves as a positive momentum shift for the team.
The 2024 Panini Rising Stars Game, where Williams will showcase his talents, is scheduled to tip off at 9 p.m. ET on Friday, February 16th, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
