The Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams will meet on Sunday night in a battle of two of the NFC’s top teams.
The Eagles (8-2), leading the NFC East, are on a six-game winning streak, while the Rams (5-5) have won four of their last five games, staying competitive in the NFC West.
Philadelphia enters Week 12 with the best defense in the league, allowing just 273.1 yards per game. Their offense ranks fifth, led by quarterback Jalen Hurts and running back Saquon Barkley. Hurts has accounted for 23 touchdowns—12 passing and 11 rushing. Barkley leads the league with 1,347 total yards from scrimmage.
The Eagles are also well-rested, having last played on Nov. 14, when they defeated the Washington Commanders 26-18. In that game, they held Washington to just 264 total yards, marking the sixth straight game that their opponent has failed to gain more than 280 yards.
Philadelphia has proven they can win on the road, holding a 4-1 record in away games this season. Their success on the road is nothing new—under coach Nick Sirianni, the Eagles are 22-9 in away games over the past three seasons.
“I think the biggest thing out of all that is just having that mental toughness that everyone is going to be against you on the road,” Sirianni said this week. “Now, we travel pretty well, and I’ve been really appreciative of the Eagles fans that show up no matter where we are. But you still feel like the stadium is against you.”
The Eagles have won all three of their matchups against the Rams since Los Angeles returned in 2016, including a 23-14 win in Week 5 last season.
The Rams are 3-2 at home this season, having lost to the Green Bay Packers by five points in Week 5 and to the Miami Dolphins by eight points in Week 10.
They bounced back from the Dolphins loss with a 28-22 win over New England last weekend. Matthew Stafford threw for 295 yards and four touchdowns, with receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua combining for 13 receptions, 229 yards, and three touchdowns.
Stafford has a solid record against the Eagles, holding a 4-2 career record with 12 touchdowns and only one interception.
The Eagles announced on Wednesday that defensive end Bryce Huff would need wrist surgery and might be placed on injured reserve. They also opened the practice window for wide receiver Britain Covey (shoulder).
Hurts (ankle) was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, while wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring), defensive tackle Milton Williams (foot), and linebacker Jalyx Hunt (ankle) did not practice.
For the Rams, starting right tackle Rob Havenstein (ankle) and cornerback Charles Woods (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. Cornerback Cobie Durant (thigh), defensive tackle Neville Gallimore (neck), and offensive lineman Joe Noteboom (ankle) were limited.
