West Ham’s Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen had to stop their goal celebrations to rescue a ball boy who got trapped under an advertising screen that fell during their 2-0 win at Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.
Soucek had just scored the first goal in the 67th minute, and Bowen jumped onto his back as they celebrated with the away fans at Selhurst Park.
However, some of the fans came onto the field when the advertising boards collapsed, trapping a ball boy under one of the screens.
Soucek quickly lifted the screen while Bowen helped the boy get up. They then checked to make sure the boy was okay before the game continued. Bowen later scored West Ham’s second goal five minutes later.
This was West Ham’s first win with new manager Julen Lopetegui.
