Frederick Gaudreau scored two goals and added an assist, helping the Minnesota Wild earn a 5-3 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday. With the win, the Wild improved their NHL-best road record.

Marcus Foligno had a goal and an assist, while Matt Boldy and Marcus Johansson also scored. Ryan Hartman had two assists, and Marc-Andre Fleury made 29 saves. The Wild have won three out of their last four games, including the first two of their three-game road trip. Minnesota’s road record is now 9-1-2.

Corey Perry had a goal and an assist for the Oilers, with Leon Draisaitl and Jeff Skinner also scoring. Stuart Skinner made 21 saves, but the Oilers have lost three out of their last four games (1-2-1).

The Oilers took a 1-0 lead just 27 seconds into the game. Draisaitl dumped the puck into the Minnesota zone, and it rolled toward Fleury. He missed the puck as it bounced just above the crease and continued through his pads into the net.

The Wild thought they had tied the game at 18:06 of the first period when Foligno scored, but the Oilers challenged the play for offsides, and after a video review, the goal was disallowed.

Gaudreau scored again at 9:50 of the third period to extend the Wild’s lead to 5-2.

The Oilers pulled Skinner for an extra skater, and Jeff Skinner scored with 25 seconds left, making it a 5-3 final.
