49ers’ Deommodore Lenoir Arrested in L.A. on Misdemeanor Charge, Court Date Set for July 25

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir was arrested Thursday in Los Angeles on a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The arrest occurred at 5:30 p.m., and Lenoir was released the following day on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in Los Angeles Superior Court on July 25.

The team acknowledged the incident in a brief statement, saying they are aware of the situation and currently gathering more information. Lenoir was charged under California Penal Code 148(a)(1), which covers actions that resist, delay, or obstruct a law enforcement officer or emergency personnel in the line of duty.

Marcus Cunningham Also Arrested As Details Of Police Encounter Remain Unclear

Also arrested during the incident was Marcus Cunningham, 25, who faces a more serious felony charge for possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle. The nature of the interaction between the individuals and law enforcement leading to the arrests has not yet been detailed publicly.

Lenoir, a native of Los Angeles and graduate of Salesian High, has played four seasons in the NFL since being drafted by the 49ers in the fifth round out of Oregon in 2021. He has become a key part of the 49ers’ defense, starting in 47 of 62 games and totaling 265 tackles and six interceptions. In 2024, he signed a four-year, \$92 million contract extension and recorded 85 tackles in 15 starts.
