Jadier Herrera and Walter Fury cruise to victories

Cuban southpaw prospect Jadier Herrera, who is now 16-0 with 14 knockouts, showed his talent by stopping the seasoned but still determined Oliver Flores, who has a record of 31-6-1 with 20 KOs, in Round 3 in Liverpool.

Herrera, wearing shiny black shorts, tried to take control early on, but his experienced opponent, brought in to challenge him, held his ground in the center of the ring. However, by the end of the first round, it was clear that the 33-year-old Flores was in trouble as Herrera’s jab started landing.

Round 2 saw some back-and-forth exchanges before the fight ended suddenly at the start of the next round.

A right hook landed, followed by a quick left from Herrera, and then he delivered a right to Flores’s stomach.

The impact caused Flores to instinctively drop to the canvas, gasping for breath. The fight was over just 30 seconds into Round 3.

Walter Fury, cousin of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, dominated his four-round match against veteran Dale Arrowsmith, who has had 126 fights. Fury, with his bleached blonde hair and thick black beard, started strong with his jab while Arrowsmith chose to stay back and observe.

Fury, now 2-0, controlled the pace of the fight, switching stances and learning as he went along, while Arrowsmith, a fighter known for surviving, only attacked occasionally.

At the end of the four rounds, the score was a predictable 40-36 in Fury’s favor, as judged by referee Mark Lyson.
