Mao Saigo of Japan shot a 7-under 65 to take a one-shot lead after three rounds of the Buick LPGA Shanghai on Saturday. This was her second straight round of 65.

Saigo, who is 18 under overall, is aiming for her first win on the LPGA Tour.

She is one shot ahead of Ruoning Yin of China, who scored a 63, the lowest round of the day at Qizhong Garden Golf Club.

Sei Young Kim from South Korea, who led after the first two rounds, shot a 69 and is three shots behind the leader going into Sunday’s final round. Kim started the tournament with a 62, which was the best score of the tournament.

Also in contention is Yealimi Noh from the United States, whose 68 leaves her five shots off the lead.

There are six more players seven strokes behind in a closely packed group.

Two of the top players on the LPGA, Nelly Korda and Lydia Ko, are not competing this week but will participate next week in the BMW Ladies Championship in South Korea.
