Xabi Alonso has decided to remain as Bayer Leverkusen’s coach, putting an end to rumors about him moving to either Liverpool or Bayern Munich.
“This is where I feel I can grow the most as a coach,” Alonso stated on Friday.
Alonso took some time during the recent international break to think about his future before making his decision known to Leverkusen.
Leverkusen is currently leading the Bundesliga by ten points with only eight games left to play, putting them in a strong position to win their first German title. Additionally, Leverkusen remains undefeated in all competitions this season.
With such impressive achievements, Alonso has become highly sought after in the soccer world. He still has two more seasons left on his contract with Leverkusen.
