Manager Tim Sherwood says that the Manchester United team coached by Erik ten Hag should get Declan Rice from West Ham United, which has David Moyes as their coach, before they begin to plan about going to Arsenal, where Mikel Arteta happens to be the man in charge, during the summer transfer window.
The old manager of Tottenham Hotspur said on a podcast that Manchester United should have picked up Declan Rice and Harry Kane during the summer of 2023.
England forward Kane has moved to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, while England forward Rice has moved from West Ham United to Arsenal. Manchester United acquired English midfielder Mason Mount from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
Someone is Saying that Manchester United Should Have Signed the Arsenal Star Declan Rice
“I do not know if Daniel Levy does not want to sell him (Cain) there,” Sherwood said, as transcribed by TBR.
“If they had offered £150m, I do not know if he would have gotten angry in his face and cut his nose off, he would have taken the deal.
“I do not think they were there. The main target was Rasmus Hjølund, and he liked the players he worked with before. They need more than Harry Kane.
“I thought they had a decent promotion season last year. If they had said, ‘Well, Declan [Rice], we have got you, and we have got Harry Kane.’ They would have been fighting for the title. Even the manager is not 100% sure.”
Declan Rice is Doing Very Well at Arsenal
There is no doubt that Declan Rice was a great signing for Manchester United. Rice made an immediate impact at Arsenal, already making the Gunners a better and stronger team in midfield.
The 24-year-old player, who makes too much money each week, could have played very well as expected at Old Trafford. But remember, Manchester United already has a very good defensive midfielder by the name of Casemiro. Both Arsenal and Manchester United are putting in more effort to win the Premier League this year. Well, let us see if that will work out for them.
Even the best teams that are fighting to win the Premier League can change from season to season depending on team performance and the level of stakes involved in their matches.
Sometimes, one team can be stronger than the other, which means that the games are not as close and good in some years.
How competitive these teams are depends on things like how good the teams are playing all their matches, how strong their players are is another thing they have to consider, and if they change their coach, can it help them move on?
