Brentford is ready to end its contract with the star striker Ivan Toney. Thomas Frank, the Brentford boss, has stated that the team is willing to give away the player ‘if the right price is there.’
Toney was suspended by the Football Association in May after admitting 232 breaches of the Football Association’s betting rules. The player is, at present, serving an eight-month suspension period.
But despite the illegal act of betting, the player still remains in demand as the England International prepares to make his return in January. A number of clubs are ready to have major bids in order to get the player on their team.
Toney has a reputation for his excellence in securing goals for his team. The player’s skills have made him a good option for auction. Chelsea could use the player to fix their front-goal issues. Arsenal and Tottenham are also ready to approach the player.
While the player was missing from the football field, Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo have been the star players for the Bees. The team has secured a win over Fulham and three draws with Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, and Tottenham. The club could only manage to score three points in the season so far.
The player’s role as the Star striker at Brentford
Toney has been a consistent performer on the team. The player had already earned five goals to his name by this time last year. His contributions to the club are immense, which makes the spectators doubt if the club should even part ways with the player as he could’ve secured a great number of goals for the team in the coming seasons as well if he were playing the match.
The Brentford boss has stated that every club in the world is a selling club apart from five or six clubs. They are a selling club if the right price is there. The club continues to see potential in the player as he further talked about how their club is not able to create as many opportunities as the top six teams, but if Toney is put in a top team, he could easily score 20 out of 25 goals.
Thomas Frank believes that if any of the players in the team build well with the club on their journey and prove that they are good enough to go to the top clubs, the club would be willing to put them up for sale if the right price is offered.
The same goes for their star striker. The Bees manager acknowledged the rumors flooding about the club regarding the issue as they are willing to sell off their striker and their number nine.
As Toney’s most recent manager, Thomas believes that there are many better than him in the world, but now could be the time for the club to part ways with their star striker. The spectators seem to both agree and disagree with the decision. Let us know what you think in the comments.
