Kansas City Chiefs standout Travis Kelce is wasting no time in setting his goals for the upcoming year. On a special holiday edition of the “New Heights” podcast, co-hosted with his older brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, the 34-year-old tight end disclosed his rather predictable New Year’s resolution. The discussion started with a comment from Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, about social media’s influence on fitness goals. Travis chimed in, revealing his plan to cut bacon from his diet, eliciting surprised reactions from both Jason and Kylie.
However, as Travis tried to explain his decision, he admitted, amid a stutter, that he wasn’t entirely giving up bacon. Nevertheless, he committed to one lifestyle change: bidding farewell to mayonnaise. Travis declared, “I’ll probably never have mayo again. I’m over mayo, and I’m done with it.” Jason playfully pointed out that giving up mayo was not much of a sacrifice since it wasn’t something Travis typically indulged in.
Looking ahead to 2023, Kelce aims to finish the year on a positive note following the Chiefs’ 20-14 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day. The upcoming game against the Cincinnati Bengals on New Year’s Eve, a rematch of the AFC championship game, is crucial for the Chiefs. Having lost three of their last four games, Kansas City is eager to secure its eighth consecutive AFC West title.
Despite the recent setbacks, star quarterback Patrick Mahomes expressed confidence, stating, “We’re still in first place in the AFC West. We have one more game to win the division. We understand it’s not going to be easy. But if we continue to work, we win this game and go to the playoffs, we know we can do what we set out to do at the beginning of this season, and that’s got to the Super Bowl.”
