World No. 11 Alex de Minaur’s recent photoshoot with Esquire has sparked a playful reaction from his girlfriend Katie Boutler.
De Minaur made it to the fourth round of the Australian Open in Melbourne for the third consecutive time. Despite a commendable effort against Andre Rublev, he fell short in a closely contested five-set match.
During a photoshoot with Esquire Australia, De Minaur shared insights into his run in Melbourne, prompting a lighthearted response from his British girlfriend and women’s World No. 53, Katie Boulter.
“Back off ladies, that bucket hat boy is mine,” Boulter humorously remarked on Instagram in reaction to Alex de Minaur’s photoshoot.
The couple, who officially confirmed their relationship in 2021, has been dating since 2020. Besides offering each other support at significant tournaments, they often engage in playful banter on social media with their fans.
While De Minaur reached the fourth round of the Melbourne Major, Boulter faced a second-round exit in her fourth appearance. Despite a promising start by defeating Yue Yuan in straight sets, Boulter was unable to advance past Zheng Qinwen, succumbing to a 3-6, 3-6 defeat.
