Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland has shared insights into his experience transitioning to the Premier League. The Norwegian international, who made waves upon joining the Citizens from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022, reflected on the surprises he encountered in England’s top flight.
Haaland’s debut season with Manchester City proved nothing short of extraordinary, as he netted 52 goals and provided nine assists in 53 appearances across various competitions. His contributions played a pivotal role in Manchester City’s triumphant campaigns in the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, and the FA Cup.
Despite the challenges often faced by foreign signings adapting to the Premier League, Haaland seamlessly integrated into the English football scene. He acknowledged the heightened level of difficulty compared to the Bundesliga, emphasizing the league’s physicality and demanding nature.
In an interview with The Official Man City Podcast, Haaland remarked, “It is, yeah. It’s loads of things. You get used to it, but you feel it more after games. It’s more duels. It’s more sprinting and running, you can feel it’s a more physical league.”
Haaland’s stellar debut season earned him a plethora of individual honors, including the prestigious Premier League Player of the Season and Premier League Young Player of the Season awards, along with the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year accolade.
