According to The Sun, Birmingham City is eyeing a summer move for Manchester United’s young talent Amad Diallo.

Reportedly, both Birmingham and Watford are interested in acquiring Diallo’s services. While Watford is considering a loan deal, Birmingham is looking at a permanent transfer for the upcoming summer window.

Tony Mowbray, the current manager of Birmingham, previously coached Diallo during his time at Sunderland. Diallo had an impressive performance last season, tallying 14 goals and four assists in 43 appearances across various competitions.

However, Diallo has seen limited action this season, featuring in just one game for Manchester United and accumulating only 36 minutes of playing time.

Despite recovering from a knee injury, he has struggled to secure a spot in Erik ten Hag’s squad.

Diallo shares a positive relationship with Birmingham’s manager Mowbray, which could influence the club’s pursuit of securing a summer transfer deal.

Previously, rumors were suggesting that Diallo might be loaned out during the January transfer window. Apart from Birmingham, Middlesbrough was also mentioned as a potential destination for the 21-year-old.

Currently, under contract with Manchester United until the end of the 2024-25 season, Diallo holds an estimated market value of €18 million, according to Transfermarkt.
