For years, WWE has largely kept its distance from other pro wrestling promotions, rarely acknowledging them on its programming. However, this stance has shifted recently, with the company frequently referencing rival organizations on TV and even featuring non-contracted stars at events.
In a notable instance in 2022, Mickie James entered the Women’s Royal Rumble Match as the TNA Knockouts Champion, signaling WWE’s apparent openness to collaboration. Last month, Jordynne Grace, the current holder of the Knockouts Title, made a strong impression in the Rumble bout as a surprise entrant.
The appearances of James and Jordynne Grace on WWE TV while signed to TNA have sparked speculation about potential behind-the-scenes collaboration between the two companies.
At the post-Royal Rumble press conference, WWE’s Chief Content Officer publicly thanked Total Nonstop Action for allowing Grace to participate in the prestigious event.
Meanwhile, RAW Superstar Xavier Woods, who once enjoyed popularity in TNA, recently shared his thoughts on a tweet highlighting one of his memorable moments in the company.
“The six-sided ring was [fire emoji],” remarked Woods.
Xavier Woods not only acknowledged his time in TNA but also reacted to a clip posted by the promotion. This could mean that WWE may be close to starting a working relationship with the Nashville-based company. However, this is mere speculation, and nothing has been confirmed yet.
