Chiefs’ Travis Kelce Donates $100K to Family of Children Shot at Super Bowl Parade

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has demonstrated tremendous generosity by donating $100,000 to aid two children who were tragically injured in the aftermath of Wednesday’s Super Bowl festivities. The news of Kelce’s donation was first reported by TMZ.

Among the victims of the shooting incident that marred the celebration were two sisters from the Reyes family, aged 8 and 10, who were among the 22 individuals injured. Tragically, one woman lost her life in the incident.

Both young sisters underwent surgery on their legs and face a prolonged recovery period, expected to wear casts for several months, as reported by Yahoo Sports’ Callie Lawson-Freeman.

In response to this dire situation, the Reyes family initiated a GoFundMe campaign with the aim of raising $100,000. The funds raised were intended to support the children’s physical and emotional rehabilitation, as well as contribute to their future college expenses.

Following Kelce’s generous contribution, the total amount raised surpassed $176,000, providing a significant boost to the family’s efforts to cope with the aftermath of the tragedy.

Notably, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, visited the hospitalized children on Friday, showing solidarity and support during their difficult time.

In addition to Kelce’s donation, singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, who is romantically linked with Kelce, also extended her support to the victims of the shooting.

Swift contributed $100,000 to the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who tragically lost her life during the parade.

The Associated Press reported that Swift’s message accompanying her donation conveyed her deepest sympathies and condolences to the grieving family.

As of Friday, the GoFundMe campaign for Lopez-Galvan had amassed over $315,000 in donations, reflecting the outpouring of support from individuals deeply affected by the tragic events.
