WWE Superstar Shotzi recently took to Instagram to share some unfortunate news with her fans. She revealed that she’ll be sidelined for approximately nine months due to a torn ACL.
Expressing gratitude for the support she’s received, Shotzi apologized for any unanswered messages, explaining that she’s grappling with a mix of devastation and anger over the injury.
Reports indicate that the injury occurred during an episode of NXT on February 13. It was during her match against Valkyria that Shotzi sustained the injury, possibly when she landed awkwardly outside the ring.
Unable to continue, the match was halted, and Shotzi was assisted backstage. Witnesses noted her inability to bear weight on the injured knee, signaling significant pain, which prompted immediate medical attention.
Originally slated to compete in an Elimination Chamber qualifier match on the February 16 edition of SmackDown against Tiffany Stratton, Shotzi expressed her disappointment at missing the opportunity.
She assured her fellow competitors of her support while promising to share more details about her injury and the emotional state later on.
Shotzi’s journey in WWE began in 2019 when she signed with the company, quickly making a mark in NXT. Alongside Ember Moon, she clinched the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship and was recognized as NXT’s Breakout Star of the Year in 2020.
