Serena Williams’ former coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, responded humorously to the steep prices set by Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz for private tennis sessions.
Nadal and Alcaraz are gearing up for an eagerly awaited exhibition match scheduled for Mar. 3 in Las Vegas. Dubbed the ‘Netflix Slam,’ the event will unfold at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, presented by MGM Resorts.
In addition to the headline bout between the Spanish stars, MGM Resorts has introduced exclusive experiences that have added a new dimension of anticipation to the spectacle.
Among these offerings are private tennis sessions with Nadal and Alcaraz, priced at a remarkable $150,000 per person, with all slots already booked on the resort’s official platform.
Furthermore, a joint group session with both players is available for $50,000 per person. The pricing set by the duo stands out in comparison to other players offering similar services.
For example, a group clinic led by Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe is listed at $25,000 per person, while sessions with John Isner and Sam Querrey, as well as with Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan, come in at $2000 and $1,000 per person, respectively.
Reacting to the lofty fees charged by Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, and their counterparts, Mouratoglou, who previously faced criticism for his $7,500 price tag for one-on-one sessions, offered a lighthearted response, noting that he had discovered even pricier sessions than his own.
“I found more expensive than me!” he shared on X (formerly Twitter).
