The UFC marked a significant milestone during UFC Fight Night 237 fight week with the inauguration of its latest Performance Institute in Mexico, commemorated by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
UFC CEO Dana White, alongside esteemed executives including Hunter Campbell, Lawrence Epstein, Duncan French, and notable fighters such as current champions Alexa Grasso and Alexandre Pantoja, graced the occasion, underscoring the significance of the new establishment.
Reflecting on the journey leading up to this moment, White shared his sentiments, stating, “This has been a dream/goal of mine for a very long time, going back to 2001,” just before officially opening the doors with the ceremonial ribbon cutting. “I was just saying to these guys to be walking the halls, looking at the gym – this incredible facility is amazing. I’ve wanted this for a long time, so I’m very excited. Thanks to everybody who made this happen.”
Highlighting the evolution of the Performance Institute concept, White remarked on the progressive improvement witnessed with each new establishment. “The first facility we did in Las Vegas, then we did China, and now we’re here. It’s better and better and better and better every time we build one. Now you can honestly say that the PI in Mexico is the best Performance Institute in the UFC, without a doubt. This place is incredible. As we keep building and learning, we keep getting better.”
Scheduled for an official opening in the upcoming months, the facility is on track for a tentative date of April 12, poised to offer world-class amenities and support to UFC athletes.
