Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham is on the verge of making his return to action after recovering from an ankle injury.
Bellingham sustained the injury during Real Madrid’s 4-0 victory over title rivals Girona at the Santiago Bernabéu on February 10. Despite scoring two goals in that match, he was substituted off in the 57th minute and has been sidelined ever since.
During Bellingham’s absence, Carlo Ancelotti’s squad has played two matches, maintaining an undefeated record. They secured a 1-0 away victory against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg, followed by a 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.
According to reports from Marca (via Metro), Bellingham is expected to resume first-team training next week. While he will miss Real Madrid’s upcoming home fixture against Sevilla on Sunday (February 25), there is hope that he could be back in contention for the match against Valencia at Mestalla on March 2.
Since joining the Spanish giants from Borussia Dortmund for a reported €103 million last summer, Bellingham has been a standout performer in his debut season. He has contributed significantly with 20 goals and eight assists in 29 appearances across various competitions.
Bellingham’s contributions have been instrumental in Real Madrid’s ascent to the top of the La Liga table, where they currently hold a six-point lead over Girona after 25 matches. They have already clinched the Supercopa de Espana title and are well-positioned to advance to the Champions League quarter-finals.
