Anatoly Malykhin, the reigning ONE heavyweight and light heavyweight MMA world champion, is gearing up for his upcoming fight in what he describes as his most intimidating form yet, a prospect that even gives him chills.
Known for his explosive fighting style, Malykhin boasts an impressive record of nine knockouts in his 13 career wins, making him a formidable force in the octagon.
In a recent interview with ONE Championship, he expressed confidence in his physical condition leading up to his next bout, stating, “I feel great this time around. Sometimes during shadowboxing or hitting bags, I get scared of myself. I’m very fast and very strong, I’m tough and very motivated.”
Malykhin is slated to face his former foe, former ONE middleweight MMA world champion ‘The Dutch Knight’ Reinier de Ridder, in the main event at ONE 166: Qatar, marking ONE Championship’s historic return to the Middle East.
The highly anticipated event will take place at the Lusail Sports Arena in Lusail, Qatar, on Friday, March 1.
Should Malykhin emerge victorious and defeat De Ridder once again, he will secure an unprecedented accomplishment as a simultaneous three-division MMA world champion, a milestone never before attained in the history of the sport.
